Payment, Refund, and Recital


DANCE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Creative: Age 3 yrs

PreBallet:
Ages 4-7 yrs
     Develops a foundation in dance by
     working large & small muscle groups while
     learning rhythm, spacial awareness, and
     improvisation.
Ballet: Ages 7-adult
  • Red: 1st year of formal study
  • Yellow: 2nd year of formal study
  • Green: 3rd year of formal study
  • Blue: 4th year of formal study
  • Teen: Beginning level of study
  • Prepointe: Prepares for pointe work
  • Intermediate I: Comprehensive
    technique class
  • Beginning Pointe: 1st year of pointe;
    taken with Intermediate I
  • Intermediate II: Technique & pointe
  • Variations: Dance variations on pointe
  • Advanced: Technique and pointe
  • Cecchetti: Ages 10-adult

Jazz: Ages: 8-adult
Tap: Ages: 8-adult
Character: Green-Intermediate

DANCEWEAR
  • PreBallet: solid color leotard, pink tights & slippers
  • Classical ballet: black leotard, pink tights & slippers
  • Tap: leotard, tights & black tap shoes
  • Jazz: leotard, tights & black jazz shoes
  • Character: leotard, tights & character shoes 

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS

  • Ballet Arts will cancel day and evening classes when Kalamazoo Public Schools are closed
  • Saturday cancellations: listen to WKZO or call the studio 

BALLET ARTS BOUTIQUE
  • Classic leotards: toddler-adult; children's ensembles
  • Tights: pink child-adult
  • Ballet slippers: children's sizes 9-5
  • Also skirts, sweaters, bags, gifts and dance accessories

BAE SHOE EXCHANGE

  • Exchange gently used shoes for a sale/exchange fee to the Ballet Arts Ensemble (see office for details)

 

 

RECITALS
Ballet Arts offers 3 types of recitals:
  • PreBallet Recital: Offered every year for dancers in Creative and PreBallet  classes.
  • Production Recital: Offered in "even" years.  A story ballet with full costumes and set.  Non ballet classes during the 2nd half in full costume.  Professional photography is available at the dress rehearsal.
  • Demonstration Recital: Offered in the "odd"  years.  Dancers demonstrate steps and styles of dance.  Dancers purchase skirts and other simple costumes.
